Making a booking - individual

Once you log into the website, you can request a place on any of the events listed on this site. Your request will then be sent to the CPD leader in your school or setting for authorisation. If your request is refused, please discuss this with your CPD leader directly as the Professional Development team does not have any information as to why the request has been denied. At the time of making the booking, you can notify us of any special requirements you may have, for example, a vegetarian lunch, or if you require help or assistance. Please note, this information is recorded in the database and will be shared with the venue and event tutor(s). Please ensure this person you are entering information about is aware of the Privacy Policy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy if this gives you any concern.

Making a booking – CPD leader

As a CPD leader, you are able to request places for yourself and colleagues working in the same school or setting. As above, special requirements can be entered which will be stored in the database and shared with the venue and event tutor(s). Please refer to our Privacy Policy if this gives you any concern.

Confirming a place

Approximately 5 days before the event is due to start, the Professional Development Team administrator will contact you, usually by email, to notify you if the request has been successful. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis, unless a case for need has been made and supported by an Adviser or by your School Improvement Partner. If the request is unsuccessful, you will be advised of any alternative opportunities available.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your place, or a place booked for a colleague, go into the My Development part of the website and select either Events I am due to attend (for an individual) or Events I have booked for a colleague (if booked by the CPD leader). Find the event and select the cancellation option. This will send an email to the Professional Development Team. If you need to cancel on the day of the event, please ring the Professional Development Team directly on 01225 713847.

A charge may be payable for a cancellation.

• If the place you are cancelling is for a chargeable course, you may withdraw, without penalty, provided a minimum notice of more than 10 working days is given. Should you withdraw less than 10 working days before the first date of the course, the full cost of the course will be incurred.
• If the place you are cancelling is for a Free or cash-back events, you may withdraw, without penalty, provided a minimum notice of more than 5 working days is given. If notice of 5 working days or less is given for each date of a course that is either free or attracts a cashback payment, the following charges will apply per applicant:

Full Day                      £30.00

Half Day                      £15.00

Twilight                        £ 7.00

Should a training course recruit insufficient numbers to make it viable, the Professional Development Team reserve the right to cancel the course, without penalty, giving a minimum notice of 5 working days.

Should any courses being offered by the Professional Development Team have to be cancelled with notice of less than 5 working days, we will refund supply costs that have already been committed by the school as follows:

            For a full day               £150.00

            For a half day               £ 75.00

To comply with audit regulations, schools must be able to support any claims made with the provision of the necessary documentary evidence.

No-shows

• Should a delegate fail to attend an event, the full cost of the course will be incurred for a chargeable event
• If the event was free, a fee of £30 (full day session), £15 (half day session) or £7 (twilight session) will be charged

What happens with your details when you make an application?

Data Protection Act 1998: Sharing of Personal Details with Third Parties: When booking training activities, you are asked to provide applicant’s title, first name, surname, school / setting and any special dietary requirements/needs. The information you provide is shared with other parties as listed below:

• Other course participants for the purpose of networking and sharing transport (excluding dietary / special needs)
• The event management (excluding dietary / special needs)
• The venue (including dietary / special needs)

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, applicants have the opportunity to request that their personal details are NOT shared with other parties. If you would prefer your personal details to be withheld, please contact Debra Chant on 01225 713881
